Windows update, deleting files?

Hi All

I have a problem with space. What I mean is I am only running a small hard disc "4GB" and as you might guess I am always running out of disc space. I have this under control with a scheduled backup system that usually keeps me about 1GB free. The problem I've got is that windows keeps updating and growing in size. On installation windows takes up about 1.2 GB, after windows update is finished it takes up 1.7GB up til now.
I have looked in the windows directory to see what files might be redundant. I came across a lot of folders with this type of namename "$NtUninstallQ329170$". Obviously not in use until u need to uninstall something.
What I need to know is there any sort of program/file cleaner that can delete all redundant windows update and installation files?
I would be grateful for any information on this.

All the best

Les.
