I thought my floppy disk drive was OK because my system booted up OK and I could read INFO on my floppy disks. BUT, I just tried to send some material to my A"\ drive and get the error message "cannot copy.......................: the drive cannot find the sector requested." Device manager says the floppy is good, I removed the floppy driver and rebooted, no change! I removed the driver for the floppy disk controller, rebooted and Windows reinstalled it. NO CHANGE! I went to MS Update center and was told that my floppy disk drive was fine and that there were no driver updates for my computer. Tried the "install new hardware" and was told the floppy drive was OK. Couldn't find anything in the MS Knowledge center. Wonder why I can read disks on A:\ and print INFO from them, but can't send to A:\? Hate to buy a new floppy drive as I seldom use it, but when I need it, I NEED IT!
