Am I SOL?
I ended up with Spy Falcon's crap on my computer a few days ago. The first thing I did was disconnect from my cable modem, not knowing what kind of nasty things it might do with my connection. From there, I ran a few virus/adware/spyware scanners, and removed everything they found. Of course, while Spy Falcon no longer seemed to be on my system, the problem was still there. Having a very good idea of how it got there, I tried to uninstall the program that likely (definately) put Spy Falcon on. Now my system seems to be trashed completely. I have no problem formatting and re-installing everything, but I don't want to lose 70+ gigs worth of mostly important, irreplacable files. We bought a new computer, and I tride putting my harddrive in it to salvage what I could, but my drive doesn't show up and can't be accessed. This new computer is really kinda crappy, so the problem may be with it. Does anybody know for sure if trying to remove Spy Falcon incorrectly completely ruins a harddrive? That is, should I still be able to retrieve my files, or am I SOL?
