lets check to see if you have a sound card, and if we can identify the motherboard, from what I have found out TriGem boards are based on Intel boards.
Get Everest and post what it finds, not your software licenses

this should give a list of all devices on your system, check to see what audio driver you have, it should show Realtek AC'97 in the list.
Do you have a Win XP CD or recovery disc's from HP?
