i have been working on a compaq presario 6000 desktop machine new out of the box, running windows XP Pro.
from the day it was first started their has been a problem with shutdown on the machine. everytime shut down is selected the machine will go through the shutdown procedure (No errors appear at this time and machine does not hang) then the machine will automatically restart.
I have been advised by microsoft that one of three things may be causing this problem
1 - You have "automatically restart" selected.
2 - The Roxio Easy CD Creator 5.0 or Direct CD 5.0 program is installed on your computer. (and causes problems)
3 - Conflict between applications will cause error screen (blue Screen) to appear for an instant
I have tryed the first step no luck, I do not have Roxio Software installed, and i get no error messages what so ever.
Please can some body help me
