I have spoken to HP and they showed me how to download the AC97 driver for the built-in Realtek, but that did not work - there is still nothing in the device manager. Is there anything esle that I can try?
Here are my Belarc details:

Compaq Presario 061 ER035AA-ABH SR1729NL NL610 0nx0411RE101ASTER00
System Serial Number: CZD60200SJ
Enclosure Type: Desktop
Processor a Main Circuit Board b
Board: Hewleet-Packard Asterope 1.0
Bus Clock: 133 megahertz
BIOS: American Megatrends Inc. 3.06 12/26/2005

Thanks!

Checked with HP the SR1729NL uses a ECS RC410-M motherboard and the Audio is ALC 882 or 883, this is not the AC'97 audio but the HD audio

Set a System Restore Point before installing driver just in case

Then go here to Realtek http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...Audio%20CODECs

download the (Excution file) save to Desktop, then double click to install

Hope this helps
