I'm having exactly the same problems with "no sound device".
I have scanned my computer with Belarc Advisor and the information is as follow:

I think a know the origin of my problem: it started after I did a "fault control".
Like everyone else in this topic, my problem is similar, but not exacly the same: I have a big yellow question mark in front of "Microsoft Kernel Wave-audiomixer" and "Microsoft Kernel-audiosplitsing"(language OS: both Dutch).
I hope you could help me: today I have searched already on about 10 forums but it looks like this one is the best.
(I really hope you could help me, otherwise I have to format my beauty!)
