Exclamation New Member to ST&T with "NO SOUND" problem...

Hello,
I am brand new to this site. I discovered it via a Google Search I made for "No Sound, Windows". I read through several of the posts in this thread so I already know that I will need to cut and paste the info. from a BELARC ADVISOR scan so that is what I will include at the end of this post.

BTW, I already checked my DEVICE MGR. and found that under "Other Devices" there were yellow question marks next to "Multimedia Audio Controler" as well as two others entitled "unkown devices". I tried to see if I could fix the problem from there but I was not able to.

BTW, my brother used to own this laptop and he had a repair done a while back where the motherboard was replaced. I have a feeling that that is where this problem is steming from. I had a fresh copy of WINDOWS XP Professional installed today and now I have no sound.

I will now attempt to cut and past the info from BELARC below....If there is any other info needed please let me know. Thank you in advance...

OK, well it seems as though my cut and paste job worked!!!! I will be sure to check back into this thread every few hours for any suggestions as to what my next step should be regarding this "no sound" issue.

Sincerely,
