Do you mean the Dimension 5100, if not then post belarc report.

Set a System Restore Point before installing just in case

Then go here to Dell, http://support.euro.dell.com/support...os=WW1&osl=EN#

install the Chipset, then RESTART your comp, and if need be install the audio driver again.
