hey barbara, thanks again. I still cant get this to work. i get the same cannot start hardware problem. btw how do i do a system restore point. Im thinking mabey im not doing this installation correctly. What i do is once i download the file i unzip it to my documents, just easier to remember where the file is. Then i go to device manager right click on the audio controller and click update driver. from there i choose the advanced option, click dont search, click i have disk then browse and select the file from there, i get the same thing everytime with every driver. mabey im doing something wrong or dont know. thanks again im sure we can fix this . Do you think there is a problem because i dont have any service packs installed?
