Ive got my original installation disks (windows xp CDs and my dell resource CDs) and Ive tried to run them with device manager but it won't find the proper drives for the Unimodem Half-Duplex Sound Device that it reads me as having.

Belarc lists the follow

Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Alex

Set a System Restore Point before installing just in case

If that is your Belarc report here is a link to your Dimension 4600 http://support.euro.dell.com/support...os=WW1&osl=EN#

the onboard sound is the ADI 198x the others are sound cards, but your report does not show a sound card. It is most likley the ADI 198x

Hope this helps
