crikey wher do i start,
Yes I too have no sound now...........
I have run for quite a while now some Edirol ma15d powered monitors, no problem, then last week by mistake I took out the lead to my laptop whilst playing some ,music through them.
Yes bang "No Sound", well no bang but no sound nevertheless.
No I go into my Control panel, for sound & audio devices, and it tells me all of a sudden "no audio device", & in the audio tab , it now says
modem #0 line playback........
Now in my device manager, yes I do have a yellow exclammation mark next to SiS 7012 audio device.
Ive tried uninstalling it, & re-installing it "NO GOOD"
Ive downloaded latest drivers "NO GOOD"
Ive tried other reccommended sound drivers, ive read about in other forums that talk of this problem " its quite common by all accounts (Im hoping this is the forum that saves me by the way)...."NO GOOD"
Ive come to the conclusion that ive fried the chip, just by taking the speaker lead out................Now before I spend even more money, on my very limited budget, that is it at all possible that a external USB sound card would work, & get sound again coming from My Laptop. please please please please help
