Thanks qfisheye. The procedure you described is not unfamiliar to me, but I have done it with TrueImage. In fact I had such a backup HD, but only a couple of days ago I lost it.
I am going to get a new HD anyway - and because I bought a new Windows XP Home Edition disk last week, maybe I am able to install it to my computer and my problems with Emachines sh*t XP are over.
I should buy two HD's, but unfortunately I can't afford to do it now.
It's kind of relief to think that it's impossible to create a working Emachines restore disk. Then I don't waste my energy on that. Personally I don't understand in which respect Emachines people differ from criminal swindlers... At least I don't recommend Emachines computers to anyone.
