Exclamation laptop won't start up (RAM?)

Ok, so I found some RAM and wanted to know how much it was (mb...). So I opened up the XI WINBOOK laptop, replaced my RAM and restarted. First, it got an error from windows. Something like invalid or whatever. Windows had to shut down. I pressed "on" button and oit turned the laptop off. Now, I can't turn on the computer! Even after reaplacing my old RAM, the laptop doesn't make a sound.
I've tried with the power cord in, and out. Same thing.

Help please!

If I can't solve this problem, then is there a way to save some of the data on the Hard Drive and back it up some where else.
I thought of putting the drive in my big desktop pc )the one im on now. But after taking the desktop pc apart, I noticed that there isn't a power plug-in on the laptop HD. And Im not sure if laptop HD pins can fit into the HDD (I think thats what U call them) slots....
So, couldn't back up through my desktop pc....

Sooo...can some one tell me what is happening?
