Hi, i'm looking for Bookworm.
I've been reading all his threads today, since around 7:30 this morning, as i have a problem with no sound from my pc since installing a new o/s.
I've read loads of threads where bookworm has helped people, and the majority of the time bookworm seems to sort the problem out.
If anybody knows where i can find him, please let me know, as i read one of his threads which mentioned another forum, and i even posted a thread on that other forum hoping that he sees it
The problem i have is this.
I have an onboard sound card, its a Columbia 2 motherboard GA-8SIMLNF (i think its a revision number 1 or 1.1), and the casing over the sound card (which is built into the motherboard) has the word FOXCONN written over its silver casing.
I've tried insalling around 10 drivers today, Realtek AC97, along with a multitude of others, to no avail.
The spec on the motherboard here
http://www.uktsupport.co.uk/pb/mb/columbia2.htm
claims it has • Audio: SigmaTel Technologies STAC9750T - audio codec
which i have even tried to install.
The Realtec drivers start to install then the pc switches off and back on againl, whereas the other drivers i've tried installing just come up with error messages
I would be really grateful if Bookworm or another member could try and help me out on this
