No fault of their own, but a lot of people format their machines and then complain they have no sound without checking out the essentials.
Cables plugged in right ports? Sound card detected in Device Manager? is it enabled in BIOS?
Any error codes in Device Manager?
If people could give us this information straight away, then they may be able to get an answer straight away.
In the UK we don't get motherboard CDs, we usually get a back up partition which has the drivers pre-loaded, but if not, we do get a drivers CD anyway (Selected models only) I.e. Fujitsu Siemans and Toshibas provide drivers disk.
