IF your machines slow, you probably have to many things in the startup menu.

Do this:

Start - Run - type "msconfig" without the quotes.

Press enter - System configuration utility will appear, look on the top, right hand corner and look for "Startup" click on this, if you have loads of things ticked.

Then at the bottom (under the list) click on "Disable all"

Enable only the essentials, i.e. Anti virus software, your ISP software (which ever that may be) and DSL if its showing.

Click on OK & Restart your PC.

If that makes no difference,

Back in to system config utility -
Click on services

At the bottom put a tick in the box that will say "Hide all Ms services" then disable the rest, again, only ticking the essentials

Again, OK & restart when prompted.
