First off, I want to say thank you! The regedit worked, and I can use my cd-rom drive again.

wpritchard, I had the same problem with iTunes after I deleted the upper and lower filters from the registry. I just went into the control panel, clicked on add/remove programs, then selected iTunes. There is a repair button in there, and I selected that. It repaired everything, and the burner is now working fine for iTunes. I can't figure out how to get Windows Media Player to recognize my cd-burner though.
