Defrag

Hard disc memory is far better under Linux (which is based on Unix) - there seems to be no need to defrag saved files....maybe when you find out...you can tell us why this is so.
I fail to understand why (if it's essential) it can't come-in when the screensaver is operating - my own PC is idle for much of the time and provided I know it has shut the ports (perhaps) and the chattering is Defrag, that's another aspect of PC Maintenance (under Win) that is automatic.
"Better" Defrag Vendors would object, I guess.
