hope this helps multimedia audio
Hi Everyone,
I Had The Same Problem With My Multimedia Audio Drv After I Formatted And Reloaded Windows, What I Found Out Was:
1: Go To Windowsupdate.microsoft.com And Update Your Windows
2: Go Back To your System And reload Multimedia Audio Drv By Going To Control Panel And Use system, then select hardware tab, then device manager, Right click the mutimedia audio drv, a dialog box should come up
then select properties
3: then select reinstall drv, select let it search for location, then select the windows update box
4: after it searches for new driver it should come up and say something to the effect that windows has found a better driver for your device
chk the little box then hit next you should see a list of drivers for your device, select the one from windowsupdate and finish following the instructions. (if a dialog box comes up and says there is no signature
load the drv anyways) the whole key is to load the drv from windowsupdate
once you have the correct drv loaded, Then Go To Control Panel And Select Sounds And Multimedia
5: Select Audio, In The Sound Playback Select The Device Which You Think Is Your Sound Card (trial And Error, common sense)
6: Sound Recording Shoud Be The Same Device
7: Select Sounds, Now Your Volume Control Should Work.
8: Select Apply Then Ok Then Exit Control Panel
9: You May Have To Reboot Your Computer And Hopefully It Works!
I hoped I explained it right its kind of hard to remember the steps
the main 2 things are loadIng the right driver and selecting the right device
in the sounds and multimedia icon, GOOD LUCK!
