This System does not support the driver you are trying to install.

Im about to just give up.

This is the link to your Dell drivers http://support.euro.dell.com/support...os=WW1&osl=EN#

this is the SigmaTel for Win XP audio

now it also has a Sound card driver the Creative

If you have 2 seperate sets of audio plugs, one near top of tower and 1 much lower down, then you have a sound card. So install Creative

One set only at top of tower then it's onboard SigmaTEL

The previous driver would not work it was for Linux OS not Win XP

if the driver will not install or is not recognised, then install the Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility and RESTART your comp, then install audio again

SET A SYSTEM RESTORE POINT BEFORE INSTALLING JUST IN CASE.

Hope this helps
