ANY help at all is welcome, even if to tell me "give up and go home"
I recently switched motherboards with a friend's old computer. After I did so, nearly all drivers auto-installed except for the sound driver. This is an interesting situation because I swapped motherboards, I didn't reinstall Windows XP, nor am I able at this time.
Dell.com specifies this is the driver I need:

I tried installing it but I ran into a strange situation much like this fellow:

I went to majorgeeks.com and download a program
here that told me that
"Chip: Intel Corporation 82801DB AC'97 Audio Controller (ICH4 A1 step)"
is my audio controller.
Now, I still hear beeps, which tells me that there is some sort of speaker active. My friend assures me that there
is and onboard sound card.
In system setup, the sound card is turned ON.
ANY help would be greatly appreciated.
