Additionally, each time I booted, I'd get an "Intel Integrated Audio can't run on this PC" or something, even though I have an AMD Athlon.

I tried to undo the integrated audio by disabling it in BIOS, but my video wouldn't work!

Please help me guys, I'm out of ideas ENTIRELY. Here are my specs:

Dell Inc Dimension E521
2.00 gigahertz AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core (2 installed)
NVIDIA nForce 430/410 Serial ATA Controller (2x)
SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC
Radeon X1300 Series (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM) [Display adapter]
Radeon X1300 Series Sec. (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM) [Display adapter]
DELL 1707FP [Monitor] (17.1"vis, s/n CC28067FAEXF, July 2006)
Board: Dell Inc 0CT103 A02
Bus Clock: 1000 megahertz

Please let me know if you need more info! Thanks!

There is a general problem at Dell with the SigmTel High definition audio for Vista, the driver does not appear to be up to the job. Have a look at this

Also this from the Dell forum http://www.dellcommunity.com/support...message.id=598

There is a driver at Dell for Vista, it works for some but not others

May be an idea to look at the board, get the model and find drivers there.

Post if you need more help
Hope this helps
