I installed windows XP Pro on my friends computer the initial internet connection through the windows xp setup worked but for some odd reason the internet connection was lost. We tried to create a new connection through network connection in the control panel but when you double click the network connection icon it won't open. The tech for the Dsl company came out and told him that it was a problem in his windows XP.
Initially I upgraded his Windows ME to windows Xp with the preffered upgrade method. Once he ran into this problem I assumed it was the previous ME install that might have caused an error so I formatted his hard drive and did a fresh install with Windows xp and we ran into the same problem all over again? Everything works but just can't open the network connection.
I have the same windows xp on 2 other computers and have had no problems with this issue on those computers so at this point I don't know what to do? Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again..
