[quote=lkh0616]I have recently reinstalled Windows XP on my VPR Matrix 6100. It has an integrated sound controller. I have been reading through this website for days and have not been able to solve my problem. I am deferring to the Bookworm as she seems to the goddess of audio problems.

I have no errors or conflicts in my device manager.
Modem #9 Line Playback which shows in the info below is not listed as any device in my device manager.

I have already done the following:
Retrieved the latest available drivers from the Intel website
Uninstalled SoundMax - Rebooted - Cancelled the New Hardware found wizard - Reinstalled Sound Max.
Disabled my modem - tried the above procedure again.
Turned acceleration all the way off - rebooted
Turned acceleration back on - rebooted
Ensured that the Windows Audio Service is on

Here is my info from Everest (I had to delete a lot to make this fit. Let me know if I missed something):

This is the board, http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scri...4&submit=Go%21

did you install No:9 the INF chipset drivers, this needs to be installed - then RESTART the comp, then the audio drivers.

SET A SYSTEM RESTORE POINT BEFORE INSTALLING JUST IN CASE

Hope this helps
