Just wanted all to know that you MUST install the KB835221.exe FIRST before trying to install the Japanise file STDAUD-01108005-UN.exe
If you try to run the stdaud first it wont find the hardware.
The Chip Set for the VGN-FE890 is the Mobile Intel® 945GM Express
you can go to Intel's website and down load the drivers for the chipset.
you can also get the drivers for the Intel Pro/100 VE onboard ethernet and the pro/Wireless 3945ABG all at the Intel website.
Some place on the web i found a link to a FE version 4 file on some Sony europe ftp / web site that has 90% of the drivers you need for this unit with XP Pro. Sony does not support XP on these units in the States. I "think" i found the link on notebookforums. When i went to the link it was not listed as FE890 the files were listed FE1.exe FE2.exe FE3.exe FE4.exe There was 3 pages of files Sony drivers. I took the most recent
At this time the only driver i am missing is for the Modem Device on High Definition Audio Bus... but who uses a modem these days?!!!
