my computer is about 5 years old and it just stopped working one day, and the system isn't recognising any speakers i plug in.
please help i really want my sound back.

Operating System System Model
Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2 (build 2600) Packard Bell NEC P480401501
System Serial Number: 010742120502
Processor a Main Circuit Board b
1.80 gigahertz Intel Pentium 4
8 kilobyte primary memory cache
256 kilobyte secondary memory cache Board: Micro-Star Inc. MS-6506 1.0
Bus Clock: 100 megahertz
BIOS: American Megatrends Inc. 07.00T 04/02/2001
Drives Memory Modules c,d
37.93 Gigabytes Usable Hard Drive Capacity
10.36 Gigabytes Hard Drive Free Space

Your serial number lists your model as an iMedia 5206, now the MSI board has onboard sound, but no audi driver at Packard Bell. It seems that audio is through your modem, can you post the lower section of Belarc so i can check.

This is the modem driver it's an AMR ( Audio modem riser )

Are your audio plugs near the bottom of your tower.

Cheers
