volume - no audio device

in control panel - admin tools - componant services
- windows audio is already down as automatic

in the properties it says
audioSrv
path to executable; C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\svchost.exe-k netsvcs

in device manager i cant see any expand systems (is it poss called something else)
couldnt see anything named similar either as micosoft audio architecture

thanks for all your help bookwork am beginning to think this is a duffy pc that should only meet a hammer in future

Are your audio plugs below the monitor socket, get Everest see what it gives copy and paste My Computer/Summary section http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/...-Edition.shtml

sorry what i meant was in Device Manager / System Devices . click the + sign and see if that M$ system is listed
