Going further into Hardware window of the Sounds and Audio Devices I see the following devices not accessible (they are bleached out)

Location Unknown?????
The Device Usage is bleached out.

Can't find the exact model, but the Acer Power FH has Realtek High Definition audio, found at Acer New Zealand, but the Vista OS at Acer Europe also kists the same realtek driver, go here to Realtek

download the (Executable file) save to desktop, double click to install
SET A SYSTEM RESTORE POINT BEFORE INSTALLING JUST IN CASE
