Unhappy No Audio Device

I recently installed Windows XP on my Compaq Notebook. Under the Voice Tab I have the “No Audio Device” message. I have tried everything I can think of and nothing seems to work.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

In the Device Manager I have explanation points on “Other Devices” . This includes “PCI Device, SM Bus Controller, Video Controller, and Video Controller (VGA Compatible)
