I got a computer from work and decided to format it. I installed Windows XP with service pack 2. I tried playing a video on the internet and could see the video, but could not hear it. As others have, I found yellow ?'s and !'s under "Other devices" specifically: "Ethernet Controller", "Video Controller (VGA Compatible)", and something to the effect of "Multimedia Audio Controller."
I re-installed windows and it got rid of the above third option (Audio) altogether and now my sound works fine. However, the other two (Ethernet Controller and Video Controller (VGA Compatible)) still have the yollow ?'s and !'s. I installed and tried playing a video game. I could hear but not see the intro video. When the menu popped up I couldn't see any buttons, just the background image.
I followed the advice given in some of your other threads and downloaded everest. Here is the System information for my computer:

This is the link to the Gigabyte drivers http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Support/M...ProductID=1670
VGA and Lan are there
you must plug your monitor into the I/O plate for this VGA driver to work see here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQzgQ39ovZY
Set a System Restore Point before installing just in case
