securing the desktop so users (students) cannot change the screen layout

i have a lab of new dells (22 computers) for my middle school technology program. the dells are running XP. there are two accounts on each computer in the lab: teacher & student. the teacher account has admin rights & requires a password for log in. the student account has basic user rights, w/ no password required for log in.

the problem i'm facing is knowing how to secure or lock the desktop so students can't change settings, screen savers, move or delete icons, etc. with the old dos/windows workstations you could go into the progman.ini file & identify specific properties as "nosavesettings". is there anything similar for XP?

thanks in advance for any assistance.
