Win XP SP2 on Dell - driver for audio not working
I installed Win XP Pro SP2 on my new Dell E520 desktop with a lot of effort (XP wont recognize the SATA hard drive). Now I do have XP installed, but the audio device did not get installed (no audio device). The system says it has the integrated Intel(R) High Definition Audio Controller (which is from Sigmatel?). I tried the drivers available on the Dell website and the ones from Intel website too. However I keep getting the message 'the drivers installed are not compatible with this system' and the audio device remains unusable.
Can someone please help identify the right drivers or let me know what is causing this problem? I ran the everest report on the machine and here are exerpts from it that I thought are relevant. Please let me know if anything else is needed to debug this issue.
