You can stop this validation process and carry on with your updates!!!
But that annoying blue star on the toolbar at the bottom of the screen wont go away
....
step-1 : open internet explorer then click tools...
step-2 : click manage Add-ons... (another window will open)
step-3 : there is a file in there that says windows genuine validation tool DISABLE IT :-) AND CARRY ON WITH YOUR UPDATES
