I just saved 70 Eurobucks!!
I could fix the problem without buying the hotfix from Microsoft.
I was struggling with this bug since weeks, but, thanks to information collected through this and other forums, I managed to find out a solution.
In my case, the offending software was ddcrypt.
Inspecting the drwatson output, I could in fact find that not only ntdll.dll was involved in the crash, but also ddcrypt.dll.
I uninstalled ddcrypt and things are now working fine.
I would like to give some suggestions to people having the ntdll.dll Windows Explorer problem, but are unable to solve it with any of the solutions listed on this forum.
1) inspect the drwatson output
2) a similar problems affects also Internet Explorer and is often due to plugins. In a similar way the problem on Windows Explorer can also be caused by "plugins".
On my computer when I right click on a file, I don't get only Windows options like "Open", "Preference", "Print", "New", but also options from third part programs like "Add to Winzip", "Scan with Antivirus", "Encrypt by ddcrypt", and so on.
One should check if removing any of the programs mentioned by right clicking, the program disappears.
