Wipe freespace?
Anyone have a thought on how one can wipe freespace; I want a new computer (who doesn't) and intend to give the old one to a friend; however, the machine has been used for business data, some of which is sensitive. While I have been careful to use Norton WipeInfo to shred confidential files, there is obviously a lot of material around in the freespace area which ought to be wiped.
Norton Utilities WipeInfo (any version) will not touch freespace wipes in NFTS; they're ok with FAT32 but that's as far as it goes. Is there any utility, short of a reformat, to accomplish what I want?
I'm running under XP Home. Any thoughts?
