CHKDSK Problems
This computer has caused me nothing but trouble. I've had to re-format and re-install windows 3 times now. Twice I've replaced the hard drive but it's still causing me trouble. I'm not sure if its the motherboard though because each time it has a different problem. The first time I was re-installing it and transfering files off my previous computer. Then, after about a month or two I started getting these Dr. Wattson Postmortem Debugger messages and I had no clue what was going on. One day it just couldn't recognize the hard drive so I gave up and did it all over again, but with a different hard drive. I've had this one for only about 3 weeks and suddenly it has crashed and went into CHKDSK. The first step was fine but right when it got to the second step, I got "Inserting an index entry into index $0 of file 25." that started flooding the screen. I left it for a while thinking it would fix itself but eventually turned it off. This time I tried to cancel CHKDSK but it wouldn't work. I literally pressed every key on the keyboard but it just ended up proceeding with CHKDSK and the same message came up again. I'm just kind of looking for some answers. Is there another way to cancel CHKDSK? Or do I just need a new motherboard? Help please.
