This is a bit of a wild card solution
A new sound card or you could remove the sound card and use onboard, Dell don't offer the driver for you model, but do have it listed for another model, it's ADI198x and it's here

but first I would go to Intel and update your Chipset driver No:2

Set a System Restore Point before installing just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore / select Create a restore point and follow instructions
