thank you for responding. but the probleme persisits im have no sound

the chip is cmi 8738
i have xp sp2 instaled

help me please

If you have a Windows disc
Try a System File Check go to Run – type “sfc /scannow” (without the quotes and note space after sfc) have Win disc available in case sfc needs to replace or repair any files. The programme runs with no alerts and then closes.
