When I start up Windows it automatically detects the RealTek AC'97 driver, but all my attempts to install that driver has failed. I have tried using different drivers by installing them manually, but the sound is not good (it kind of gets stuck like a badly scrathed CD), which I believe is due to the poor incompatibility with my hardware.

If you have any clue what driver I should use, and more importantly where I can download it, your help would be much appreciated.

Thank you!

Chris

My system details are:

***Motherboard***
Mobile Intel Pentium M, 1400 MHz (14 x 100)
ASUS M2000N Series Notebook
Intel Montara-GM i855GM
502 MB (PC2100 DDR SDRAM)

***Current multimedia driver***
Intel 82801DBM ICH4-M - AC'97 Audio Controller [B-1]

Need to pin the model down, the M2000 series has more than 1 model, look under the notebook any of these models shown
M2A - M2C-M2E-M2N(NB)-M2Ne
