Help!! Lost Sound on Toshiba Laptop
Hi all,
I lost sound on my toshiba satelliet a45-s250 laptop after I did bunch of things to alleviate my High CPU usage issue. I dont remember exactly what I did. Some of the things I did are:
- Disable "Automatic updates" under services
- D/Led windows update fix for the above issue
- Removed bunch of software that came with the laptop (B'sLink, drag n drop, etc)
- I restored the system back to the earlier state.
Nothing has helped. My device manager shows a exclamation on the "Multimedia Audio Controller" under "Sounds Video & Game Controller".
As per suggestions in other thread the info I got from the Belarc are:
MAIN CIRCUIT BOARD:
Board: TOSHIBA Portable PC Version A0
Serial Number: $$C041C8NQ
Bus Clock: 133 megahertz
BIOS: TOSHIBA Version 1.30 12/18/2003
MULTIMEDIA:
Bluetooth Audio
Multimedia Audio Controller
Sounds & Audio Device window in Control Panel has everything grayed out and only displays "Bluetooth audio" (Volume tab). Under the hardware tab the Multimedia Audio controller has the following information.
Manufacturer: Unknown
Location: PCI bus 0, device 31, function 5
Device Status:The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)
To reinstall the drivers for this device, click Reinstall Driver.
========
Please help me out, none of the reinstall driver or roll back works and I have tried out everything that I can think of apart from just formatting and reinstalling the OS.
Thanks
