hi all, i have formatted and reinstalled the OS since i got the multimedia audio controller problem. i have read some tips some this forum and i still cant get the problem solved and i have no sound frm my pc even the yellow mark disappear frm device manager.

i have tried ac 97 and sound max and im using the usb speaker

Ths is the Soundmax driver from Asus http://support.asus.com.tw/download/...Language=en-us

check that Soundmax is default driver

Go to Control Panel / Sound & Audio Devices / Audio tab / Sound Playback – click on down arrow and check that the correct audio is selected. Typically the problem will be something “modem line 0 playback” has been substituted for the correct audio device.

Start / Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Component Services / a separate window will open – in left pane click Services(Local) / Scroll down to Windows Audio service / if the service is Disabled or Manual right click > select Properties > under Startup Type change to Automatic > click Apply > click Start > Reboot.

Set a System Restore Point before installing drivers just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore / select Create a restore point and follow instructions
