would a new sound card solve my problem?

If I bought a new sound card (say the Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE/7.1) and installed it to my computer with the drivers it comes with, would that solve my problem? It only costs £25 approx but if a new sound card will solve the problem, then I'll do that!
