I tend to get this error with every Firefox Update:
In the following locations, just delete "default" (if you done this before, it will be just the first two).
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\FirefoxURL\shell\open\ddeexec
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\FirefoxHTML\shell\open\ddeexec
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\FirefoxHTML\shell\open\ddeexec
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\https\shell\open\ddeexec
