can you check this to see if Realtek is the default audio
Check Control Panel/ Sound & Audio Devices/ Audio tab/ Sound Playback click on
down arrow and check that the correct audio is selected. Typically the problem will be something “modem line 0 playback” has been substituted for the correct audio device.

ok, in the audio section in the control panel, it is not letting me do anything on the audio tab, they are all gray boxed. And also, it won't let me download that link you gave me, but the my laptop model is a dv5040us and its a HP Notebook...i hope that is what u need
