but check this first
Start / Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Component Services / a separate window will open – in left pane click Services(Local) / Scroll down to Windows Audio service / if the service is Disabled or Manual right click > select Properties > under Startup Type change to Automatic > click Apply > click Start > Reboot.
Set a System Restore Point before installing drivers just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore / select Create a restore point and follow instructions

alright, well i checked out the componet services and it was already set to automatic and then i tried to install the link you gave me, it gave me this: "MMDRIVER.INF is missing and is needed to install the drivers. It may be damaged or may not be in the system32 directory." So i checked and that file is indeed there...so please tell me how to fix that...i would really appreciate it...thanks a lot, you have been a lot of help so far ^^
