When I checked the device manager, under Other Devices, Multimedia Audio Controller had a big yellow question mark in front of it.
I tried to uninstall it in safe mode, and then restart it normally, it didn't work. When I got back on, I tried to reinstall it, but the computer couldn't find the software for the controller.
I have a DELL inspiron 1000
Model #: PP08S
I'm not sure what else you need....or where to find it on my computer! Just let me know what you need to help me.
PLEASE HELP ME!!!

If you mean an Inspiron 1000 notebook, this is the audio driver

Set a System Restore Point before installing drivers just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore / select Create a restore point and follow instructions
