No sound
I am working on my niece's computer. Back in September I installed AVG free on her computer and it found over 500 Trojan horse viruses. All went to the virus vault. She had lost sound on her computer about 2 weeks(guessing) prior to running the virus scan. At the time I had installed the anti-virus program I tried to get her sound back with no luck. I now have her computer here at my house(she lives an hour away so it was easier for me to have it here)working on it. I have tried EVERYTHING but still cannot get the sound back. I went to the ECS website and downloaded the driver for sound. That did not work. I went to the Realtek website itself and downloaded the driver. That did not work. I went to BIOS to make sure sound was enabled. It was. I even reformatted the HD hoping that would bring it back to life. That did not work. I am guessing the only other option would be to go out and buy a new sound card? This has me totally stumped. Can anyone help me? Here is the info I ran on Belarc for her pc:
