yes it would be worth the upgrade,,your mobo can take a athlon 64 x2 4800 cpu 939 socket..thats the highest they went on 939 sockets,,then they went to 5000 am2 sockets. i use to have a amd x2 64 4200 and there fast..ugrading to a dual core is your best bet. check out the 939 4800 x2 64 your find them really cheap now. also there cache size is bigger. they use 1 mb cache each core,,the x2 64 4200 has 512kb cache per core. just make sure your psu is 400 watt or over. if your getting a x2 64 4800 cpu. the 4800 x2 939 are getting rare now there hard to find...you can get on ebay and some online stores ,,so have alook around.
