No, it's a new computer, I just installed XP .. and then there was no sound. When I go to the Audio bit in Control Panel it won't let me select anything, it's all grayed out, and sometimes it comes up with "no audio output installed".
It's not.
I already have ... all it says for System Model is 'Enclosure Type: Desktop', and for Main Circuit Board, I've already copied and pasted everything it says ... but I'll show you again ..
Main Circuit Board
Board: RS/RX480SB400
Bus Clock: 200 megahertz
BIOS: Phoenix Technologies, LTD 6.00 PG 03/10/2005
That's it. That's all that comes up.
I guess it's a bad thing that it doesn't even show up with my system serial number then?

OK.
Download the following and on the main screen should be the make of your sound card (Hopefully)
Or the real make of your Motherboard.
